MIND CONTROL · The Course
What keeps getting
in your way?
The belief that you’re not enough. The need to keep everyone happy. The version of yourself you put on so nobody sees what’s underneath.
Bring the one that keeps showing up. Spend thirteen weeks practicing a new way to meet it, with Phil’s guidance and a small group beside you.
Founding class begins November 3, 2026.
Free Course seat · Your own book required.

Start with your life
You may already know
your One Thing.
It’s the pattern you keep coming back to, even when you understand it. The one affecting your relationships, your work, or the choices you make.
Maybe you agree before you know what you want. Keep quiet when something matters. Or hold yourself back from a life you can almost picture. You don’t need a name for it yet. You only need to notice what came to mind.
That is where this Course begins. You’ll write about your One Thing before we meet, return to it throughout the Course, and write about it again at the end. What has changed? What hasn’t? What can you see or choose now that you couldn’t before?
Bring a big vision for yourself. If this pattern no longer ran your life, what might become possible? No one can promise what will change, or how quickly. You decide what progress means.
MIND CONTROL: The Course
A framework you can practice
in the life you already have.
The book gives you language for the beliefs, stories, and familiar roles shaping your choices. The Course gives you time to work with them: a chapter each week, questions to sit with, and people to return to as you try something different.
Notice what’s happening.
Begin to recognize the pattern while it is happening: in a difficult conversation, a decision you’re avoiding, or the familiar pull to please.
Make room to choose.
Practice pausing, meeting yourself with more awareness, and responding deliberately. Bring the framework into the moments when it matters.
Keep returning.
A consistent small group and a morning and evening practice give you somewhere to come back to. The practice is your life, one ordinary day at a time.
Choose your Course
The same work.
A time that fits your life.
Every group takes the same thirteen-week Course with Phil. Choose the dates and meeting time that work for you. The November founding class is free; later Courses are $997 per seat.
All session times are Eastern. Each Course has a maximum of 98 participants. Your own copy of MIND CONTROL is required before you register; the book is not included.

Your guide · Phil Van Winkle
“I’ll be practicing
right alongside you.”
I wrote MIND CONTROL because I wanted to understand why insight and inspiration could feel so real, and the old patterns still come back.
I’ll guide our weekly sessions, make room for your questions, and read your opening and closing essays. I’ll bring the framework and my own experience. You’ll bring yours, and your experience has the final say.
Thirteen weeks is our time together. The rest of your life is what we’re practicing for.

Your POD
The same people.
Room to be yourself.
A POD is the small group you meet with every week. You each have time to speak, to listen, and to reflect on what the work looks like in your own lives. You don’t need to arrive with answers.
Partners and close friends join different PODs. You can take the Course together while each having space to do your own work with people who have no history with you.
During the first two weeks, if your POD’s meeting time doesn’t work, tell Phil. He’ll do his best to accommodate a move. After that, PODs stay together for the rest of the Course.

First, the book.
Then, your seat.
Ready to join? These are your next two steps.
Get MIND CONTROL.
Each person needs their own copy before registering, including partners taking the Course together. The book isn’t included with your free seat.
The book was written as the Course Book, so it gives you a meaningful preview of the work. You don’t need to finish reading it before registering.
Register for the Course.
Already have your own copy? Register at Fire Horse Press. You’ll be asked which edition you have.
Registration closes October 30, 2026, or when the ninety-eight seats are taken.
Before you decide
A few practical questions.
What if I can’t attend Tuesdays at noon?
Watch the full ninety-minute recording before your POD meets. Tuesday sessions can be attended live or on recording; your POD is the meeting you need to attend live, at least ten times out of thirteen.
How much time should I set aside?
About three hours of meetings weekly: ninety minutes with Phil and ninety with your POD. Add time for reading, written work, your morning and evening practice, and the opening and closing essays. Your daily practice has no prescribed duration.
Can my partner or a close friend join too?
Yes. Each person needs their own book and their own registration. You’ll take the same Course and join different PODs, so you each have room to do your own work.
What happens during the December break?
There is no Tuesday session or POD meeting December 22, 2026. Your daily practice continues. Sessions resume December 29, 2026.
Do I need to have read the whole book?
No. You need your own copy before registering, but you don’t need to finish it first. Read the Preface, Orientation, and Part One before November 3, 2026, then follow the weekly reading in your participant Guidebook, provided after registration.
Is this spiritual? Is it therapy?
Spiritual, deeply so, and not religious. The Course welcomes any faith or none at all. It is a setting for self-leadership and practice, not therapy or a substitute for it. You decide how much of your experience to share.
What if November isn’t the right time?
Two more Courses are planned for January 2027 at $997 per seat. The Course itself is the same; the dates and meeting times differ. Compare the January groups.
Plan ahead
Three semesters.
Room to plan your year.
The Course is planned around three three-month semesters, beginning in January, May, and September, with a month between semesters.

May 2027 semester

As the program grows, each semester will offer up to five meeting slots: Tuesdays at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., and Thursdays at 10 a.m. All times are Eastern.
Confirmed groups will appear in the Course grid with their own waitlists. Waitlist members have three days of priority enrollment before the public opening. Enrollment closes for the semester two weeks before its first session, or earlier for an individual class that fills.
